: A Christmas Wish

Dear Santa:

I have a wish,
It’s Heaven sent,
No Christmas has been the same,

I need this present,
Just give me this one thing that I wish,
Something that me, a little boy, truly misses.
Forget all the newest games, I don’t care,
Don’t want an airplane, again, I don’t care.
Look, this is so hard for me to say,
As I wipe my eyes and start to pray,
Since you’re in the sky, I’m asking you,
You are closest to God up there, aren’t you?
Maybe relay him this little message,
About a boy, 6 years old, who doesn’t want any presents,
Just a big part of his life is missing,
So, Santa, please deliver me this blessing.
Last year I cried so hard on the night of the Eve,
Because I didn’t write to you,
It’s hard to believe,
That I would be in this position again,
Wake up, still in the same boat again.
Santa, if you see Him up there,
Let him know I want something that I cannot bear,
To live without anymore,
So please, please try,
I’m sick of doing all this crying.
This home is starting to scare me,
The walls cry late at night,
When it’s rainy,
When Mom brought me here, she said it was for the best,
I trusted her, believed her, but had a firm grip on her chest,
When she brought me out of the car and set me inside,
I didn’t want to leave her, not in a million years, and I tried,
To fight and when she didn’t allow me to stay,
I let go, no longer needed, I was just in her way.
So, I was stuck behind a window like a puppy,
Wondered why in the world my mommy didn’t love me,
And as she got in her car and started to pull away,
I found myself in a room with strangers,
No friends, I want this to change.
So, Santa, if you could, try and grant me this wish,
Of a mom or a dad, that comes complete with a kiss,
Until then, Santa, I hope you will be all right,
But I will leave now, see you tomorrow,
Goodnight.

-wipes eyes-
