I strip naked, slowly....
The blank screen
Blinks at me...... blankly.
.
Until, I focus
On its mirror eye....
.
It reflects back
A diffuse image,
Of my sags, and.....
“Incipient” wrinkles.
.
I admire what appears, now,
More thirtyish
Than fiftyish.
Touching skin
Softened by perspective.
.
I touch me,
Like my lover would.
Missing, now,
Is the cellulite and calluses.
.
I feel the girl
Giggle, and
Wiggle under my caress.
I turn and watch me
Walk away.
I wink at me.
An incurable flirt.
.
A memory....
Of you...
Curled around my back.
My hands still grasping
At the pillows.
Our gasping, slowing to
Gulping, of air.
.
Turning, to look
Into your eyes,
I glimpse
Our mingled
Reflection,
Placed neatly under
Gideon’s bible.
.
Your weathered skin
Appeased as well,
In that flattering eye.
Our bodies impossible
To tell apart.....
.
I slip back into now.
I see your flight
Landing tonight.
.
I throw on some jeans,
And a T-shirt.
I grab my keys and bag.
.
As I head for the door,
And check back
Over my shoulder.
I catch the TV
Wink at me,
Walking away.
.
Have you seen
What I see,
In your eye
At the Grantmoor Hotel.....
