conect11 writes:: " God did not call me
because I have great qualifications.
Like you
I am little and weak.
God did not call me
because I am eloquent.
Like you
I am confused and hurt.
I struggle with my sins
and my inadequacies daily.
Like you

I am shallow.
Like you
I am helpless without the Lord.
Like you
I did not want to hear these things.
Like you
I was born to die.
Oh no, my friend,
none of us deserve heaven
or eternal life.
You will never earn your salvation.
None of us are that strong,
or gifted on our own.
The debts we owe go back
all the way to the center of Eden,
and everything between then and now
would rest square on our heads
if not for Christ
and the price he paid.
Like you
I believed this in my head
but didn’t feel it in my heart.
Like you
I didn’t want the born agains
trying to save me.

I can’t save you
anymore than I can save myself.
Anymore than an ant can save itself
once I’ve crushed it underfoot.
It is your maker who will save you,
and your savior who redeems you.
Like you
I live in a tragic ugly world.
Like you
I live in a world lush and beautiful,
with sweet fragrances and vivid colors,
tastes, textures, warmth and brightness.
We were given these things as gifts.
We were given each season
and each day,
and each breath
he has counted.
He is powerful,
he is alive.
I have seen his handiwork
and I can promise you
he is wonderful.
Like you
I was helpless.
Like you
I had no taste in me
except for the bitterness
at the back of my throat.
Like you
I am loved.
Like you
I have a purpose.
Like you
I have been given the Earth,
and I know my Father loves me,
like I know he loves you.
