: Death of a Worm
|
on Wednesday, August 22 @ 19:24:20 UTC
poison writes:: " On a warm summers day,
A gentle rain came to pass.
Soaking the ground, and wetting the grass.
You were safe, hidden deep underground,
Until you decided you’d look around.
First you went left, and then you went right,
Hidden underground, in your spaces so tight,
Pushing and shoving struggling to be free,
When up from the ground, a worm I did see
Were you coming or going? I couldn’t tell.
Both ends looked the same, on this I didn’t dwell.
You made your way onto the concrete,
How much faster you’d be if only you had feet.
I watched as you went from left to right,
I thought to my self, this could take all night,
The driveway to you must be a million miles wide.
As I left you to your journey, and went quietly back inside.
To soon the rain clouds left, simply vanishing in the heat
I wondered of your journey, and had you accomplished such a feat?
I went outside to check on you, but much to my surprise
Sometime after I left, you met with your demise.
I found you on the concrete, just inches from your goal
If only I had been there, then maybe you’d reached your hole.
I took your dried up body, and placed it in the ground,
For if there’s a earthworm heaven, I’m sure this is where it’s found
