faithfully_a_Wallflo writes:: " The soft little hammer of the piano keys mystified the atmosphere that night
They put a somber tone of desperation into the part of wrong that makes us right
The mood picked up, I said, as I continued to recount the moments before we met
I walked in the door with my friend and I swore tonight I'll take just what I can get
This room is cold, and outside the sound is in a frenzy swollowing up every dream
She touched the space between us, as I caught her heart ripped up at the seem
Spawned from an intangible moment, we surrounded our days with each other
Inspiring me to title a book in her honor, and paint her essence all over the cover
Despite my devotion, she reminded me I never really meant to her what she so denied
She said that I was only the friend she needed, that she didn’t love me, but I swear she lied
So the love turned to sorrow, and smiles became frowns, with no hope for a saving grace
From then on I couldn't speak when I saw her because my heart was always stuck in that place
She teases me about the way we live in worlds so far apart, but are so close anytime we speak
I can't believe I've lived a dream come true, yet this destiny is the very thought that makes me weak
I close my eyes and I'm dancing in the dark to the songs dedicated to me and you
They are songs composed of memory in every minute of every verse I wander through
From the instant I left that place I said it, someday I'm going to fall in love with that girl
On the night I promised to take what I could get, I walked out holding on to the world
In any event, my fingers cover the porcelin keys, undertaking a melody touching me alone
This song reached it's end, but my fingers take the long way out because love is like coming home "
