: Excursions in Philosophy
on Wednesday, July 14 @ 08:31:45 UTC
perv writes:: " Watching you sleep
He realised the inviolable beauty of stillness
And his restless soul soothed
With the sun as it steadily climbed
Above the tenements of East London

And he knew then
That home is where you are

As the first shards of daylight
Cast arresting shadows on the paleness
Of her sublime face
The reverie subsided
And he rested his clumsy hand
On her smooth , walnut oiled haunch

And he longed to assimilate her
To somehow squeeze some of her mystery
Into his own translucent soul

Again it is only short so this space is completely obsolete i feel it necessary to put a joke here

so here goes#

'what is black and screams?'

Stevie wonder answering the iron! "

this again is amazing, perv, you are the only fella on this site who has any idea about what poetry/ verse is about you are the lineal successor to the imagists and it is surely about time you had some of this shit published it is that fucking good

just reading this back, i realised how fucking good it is

the way you alter between, her and you it is inspired it really blurs the lines between your own experience, i.e the object juxtaposed against the edward hopper painting from which the title is taken. unfortunately it is wasted on these suicidal peasants

the last line really evokes the confused, frightened look on the mans face and has helped me to understand it in terms other than isolation but maybe in exultation
