: something evil this way comes
on Thursday, October 07 @ 07:52:40 UTC
shaun writes:: " Something evil this way comes.
Creeps through darkest night.
Stalks the path we take each day.
Enemy of all that’s light.

Something evil this way comes.
Closer by the hour.
Watching hungry from the dark,
for death to show his power

Something evil this way comes.
Close as it can be.
Icy talons reaching forth.
A death you’ll never see.

Something evil this way flies.
Upon you now it falls.
You see it not but all around,
Shadows spring like walls.

Something evil that way runs.
It’s quarry in its grasp.
You turn to look up to its face
Before you breathe your last.

Something evil stops and stands
o’er quarry and prey.
Stops and stares into your eyes.
You dare not turn away.

Something evil reaches out,
To take all life away.
But a cry goes up into the night,
‘no Monster. Not this day’.

Something evil sees at last,
The quarry and prey stand forth
And slowly free from its scabbard,
a bright and shimmering blade.

Something evil tries to run.
The blades light grows ever brighter.
It had not looked and had not seen,
It’s prey could be a fighter.

Something evil fights for life,
Yet knows that it is doomed.
Two cries go out victory and pain,
As is struck the fatal wound.

Something evil lays and spills,
It’s life blood to the floor.
It will not stalk or creep or kill
In shadows anymore.

I like the beginning better than the end. You obviously got caught up in the story and not the language which is reflected in the writing. It is very powerful and well written but there is a definite divide between the two ends. Strange choice of subject but excellent imagination. That sounded very critical didn't it? sorry i thought it was really good and darkly creative.
