Natalie writes:: " There was a boy for who I fell,
This is the story I will tell:
One summer's night, long ago,
When moon did shine and wind did blow.
I said to him: "Hold me close, hold me tight,
Never let me out of sight.
Take my hand, hold it dear,
Keep me by you, keep me near.
Guide me through life, help me through;
You'll have a friend in me, I'll have a friend in you."
And so this boy vowed to stay true to his girlfriend.
A gypsy came to his door and offered him some gold.
She told him it was the most precious thing he'd ever hold.
"Ah," he said, "but you are weong.
I know a girl as precious as a song.
But her you will never see,
For she belongs solely to me."
And with that he shut the door and left the gypsy standing out in the cold.
Six months later the gypsy returned,
but the boy's passion for the girl had only burned.
"With the gold you may have proved me wrong,
But I have found something much more beautiful than a song."
And from her purse she slowley drew...
what it was the boy had no clue.
"This," she said, "is the elixir of life.
Only three in the world, it will keep you safe from strife."
And as she held it in her hand,
It bagan to shimmer like gold hidden in sand.
The boy was tempted but shook his head.
"I'd rather keep my girl insted."
So he went inside and turned off the lights.
But once again, the gypsy came back;
Much older now her skin was cracked.
"I've searched the world far and wide,
Found antiques, jewels, even dragon hide.
But nothing more beutiful than the elixir.
Where is this girl? Show her to me!
She must be as radiant as the sea,
For nothing is more beutiful than the elixir."
The boy was reluctent, but went inside;
brought out his girl; he did not let her hide.
"Ha!" screamed the gypsy. "You must be an idiot! A fool can see even I am more beutiful than her!"
The girl bowed her head, taken back,
But the boy did not let the gypsy get away with that.
"How dare you!" he cried, "If you look into her eyes,
You will see the most kind and caring woman inside.
Because beauty on the outside is merely a bonus; What's inside decides whether a person is beutiful or not. "
