But I know that this is only a phase
No one I love ever actually stays
You just come around every now and then to give me more false hope
But you serve your purpose, when you're around it's easier to cope
Cope with the fact that I'm alone
Blind myself to all the awful things I've been shown
So protect my heart and shield my eyes
Quit dragging me down and telling me lies
So, give me a reason, make me feel again
Say that you'll be with me so my life can finally begin "
