: Noaferatus
on Sunday, January 30 @ 08:01:33 UTC
mephistor writes:: " Things I have done to do
In the past -present and future
All no longer matter to me
Since deprivation is the key
To my twisted plot of melancholy
For I had always wanted to be freed

Freezed is actually better an expresion
That is what my memory recalls
This juvenile vanity of arrogance
To be like the Wind and the Master
What my promised potency entailed

I am no more that man I used to be as Dutchess
No personality left wholesome in darkness
The castaway shadows of hatred and suffering
Towards the woman who tricked me into this existence
In the impossible cravings nobody could seem to fulfill
To be a man today and learn and prosper pluriformicly
No -the emancipation of woman to man has proven a lie
At least- what the ideal is concerned and not its practice

After the slippery trip I am standing empty-handed
Now today nothing is to value more then smoke
Smoke curtains that slip and whirl underneath
The doors and windows during crisp cold nights
“The Horror -the Horror-” I think to myself
To die a thousand times where worlds meet the eye
The civilization and postponement of our needs
To save up all strength for that lasting final stump
Just to say in my imaginary purgatory along somewhere
You remember that one- that was my big fuck down there
Fucked up for the part I was so concerned about at first

Yet I ain’t death yet -that for sure is the matter of fact
To plan plans beyond my lifetime -is a crime however
Too much delay in life is like being prisoner to the self
Really -everybody needs the satisfaction of a smile
A girl smiling to you and the morning once in a while
Even the filthy and unclean have the choice Noaferatus
To close the eyes for beauty -or- give the soul his body back
"

Its driving me crazy but Noaferatus, what does it mean? (i know in latin farae means wild....but im not sure that’s part of the denotation for this word.)

Anyway, this poem is wonderful, I think its an allegory about life, not so much as love, though that is a large part of life.

The first stanza, perhaps, speaks of yearning for redemption and perhaps loss as well.

The second stanza, perhaps, speaks of working hard to control life and falling up short. This stanza explains the first's emotions. It also harkens to pent up emotions that have some how slipped away and left apathy in their wake.

The Third stanza goes more in depth about the first two. It seems to convey betrayal and perseverance.

The fourth stanza now goes more in depth about the first three. it conveys a sort of seduction by apathy and perhaps other people close to you. it also seems to convey being lost, in the sense of not understand your purpose.

the last stanza is almost triumphant but more defiant than anything. It settles on a sort of catharsis with a Platonic ideal of soul and body.

This poem was interconnected, much like Plato's ideal republic, its written almost deductively...Im not very sure, because it almost sways from it because it is also the specific at the end, but then its also general. Im ambiguous, to say the least.
Once again, I thought this was wonderful. I may be a tad off on the overall meaning, but thats the point of poetry, interpretation.
