: An Unfortunate Burden
on Friday, July 08 @ 22:22:22 UTC
apostolos writes:: " Surrounded by the screams of his drunken mother
His father as immature as a teenage brother
He watches them fight like a predator and prey
He’ll cut himself just to make the pain go away
Squandering over money they argue and complain
While there child is on the verge of going insane
“It must be my fault they don’t have any money”
“It’s my fault they scream and my dad never calls my mom honey”
An unfortunate burden is how he sees himself
With a child to raise how can they build up there wealth

He walks into the kitchen famished and tired
Opening the fridge to find everything they have is expired
How can they go on if they don’t have anything to eat?
Spoiled milk won’t cut it and neither will rotting meat
He’s past fear or depression he’s moved on to rage
Other kids are happy while he’s rotting away in this cage
Not even looking back he walks away in the night
He doesn’t turn around till his house is far out of sight
Why should he live in a house where he isn’t treasured?
Where they set him aside and his expenses are measured
Let him scamper through the night and find a way to survive
For he’d rather be dead then live in that house alive
"
